X-tension is a post-fabrication dorsiflexion limiter for custom AFOs. It is designed to prevent drop off at terminal stance by resisting or stopping tibial progression over the foot. X-tension bands come in dynamic (flexible) and static (rigidly locks the AFO) options in both pediatric and adult sizes. You can tune the resistance of the dynamic X-tension bands by selecting different thicknesses (4 available) or lock up your articulated AFO with the static X-tension band to make your articulated AFO perform like a static AFO.
